I just posted that to Obscure Cars for sale. I love those cars, but prefer the earlier Daffodil.
There was once a band named after those ads called New Fast Automatic Daffodils.
The best use of a Daf is, of course, racing in reverse.

Those hood mounted mirrors look a bit odd, but for the rest it seems nice. It sure looks less rusty than it would have done here in it’s home country.

Very unlikely. Almost no foreign cars sold in Japan then and most of them were lhd, it being a kind of status symbol.
I used to have a Volvo (née DAF) 66.
